About BandHouse Gigs

BandHouse Gigs, founded in 2004 by local Bethesda musicians Ronnie Newmyer and Chuck Sullivan, and later joined by David Sless, Greg Hardin, and Danny Schwartz, is the D.C. area’s premier producer of one-of-a-kind tribute concerts for iconic artists and influential musical movements.  Over the past 13 years BandHouse has produced 25 sold out shows at The Music Center at Strathmore, The Fillmore Silver Spring, Wolf Trap, Rams Head On Stage, and The Hamilton Live.

We enlist an impressive number of the area’s premier vocalists and musicians and arrange unique musical ensembles that often include horn or string sections to embellish the sound and stay true to the original arrangement.  Over 500 different musicians have performed at these tributes.  Our performers are quite diverse, combining internationally recognized seasoned veteran performers with rising local stars to bring our tribute concert audiences a cast that blends all backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities.  This diversity has also allowed us to perform music from numerous genres, including:  pop, jazz, funk, rock & roll, Latin, folk, soul, country, and rhythm and blues.

Past concerts include tributes to Nils Lofgren, Joni Mitchell, Woodstock, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, the British Invasion, George Harrison, Steve Winwood, The Byrds, and David Bowie among others. These tributes also serve to shine a light on the area’s diverse and richly talented musicians, putting them on top notch concert stages in front of attentive audiences.

We collaborate with professionals willing to donate their services, including writers, graphic artists, videographers, photographers, make-up artists, lighting designers, marketing professionals, and audio engineers.  Together we are the BandHouse Team.

BandHouse Gigs is a not-for-profit entity and is a contributor to Hungry for Music, a non-profit that provides musical instruments to underprivileged children, as well as a supporter of Hope Line, a non-profit initiative to help with addiction treatment.

Several past show recordings are available on CD Baby and ITunes and also sold at our shows.  We have produced seven award–winning CDs and three DVDs - including our 10-Year Retrospective double CD that contains songs from 19 tributes so you can catch up or relive the past.  In addition we have lots of professional multi-camera videos posted on YouTube. Please check us out on Facebook for up to date information.

Over years, BandHouse Gigs have etched a unique place in the hearts of musicians and music lovers alike. We invite everyone to join in the fun and become part of the tradition.
